TERMS AND CONDITIONS - ALUMNI DISCOUNT 

The Alumni Discount is operated by M.C.T FZE, a Jebel Ali Free Zone Establishment organized and existing under the laws of the Emirate of Dubai, under the Registration Number 832 domiciled at PO Box 261075, Jebel Ali, Dubai United Arab Emirates directly or indirectly through its business partners (“Chalhoub”).

These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) govern your eligibility and use of the Alumni Discount.

By your acceptance for the Alumni Discount, you agree to be bound by, consent to, and comply with the terms described in these Terms and Conditions.

The holder of the Alumni Discount shall be referred to as (“You”)

ELIGIBILITY

In order to enroll into and benefit from the Alumni Discount:

1. You should have been employed with Chalhoub or its joint venture stores for three years or longer and;
2. Received an email where You have been selected as an eligible holder of the Alumni Discount or;
3. Applied through the portal (https://alumni.chalhoub.com/alumni/anon/landing-page/index.html)  (the “Alumni Portal) where You completed all the required steps to enrol for the Alumni Discount as well as received a confirmation message indicating that You have successfully been approved for the Alumni Discount. The Alumni Discount is extended only to approved alumni. 

Acceptance into the Alumni Discount may be determined by a case-by-case basis if Chalhoub deems fit. 

CONDTIONS OF USE OF THE ALUMNI DISCOUNT

The Alumni Discount is applicable only on purchases made at Chalhoub participating stores located in the United Arab Emirates (the “UAE”), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (the “KSA”), Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Egypt.

The Alumni Discount varies across different jurisdictions and years of employment.

• UAE, KSA, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait:

Below 15 years at Chalhoub - 12.5% across participating Chalhoub stores
 15 years + at Chalhoub - 25% across participating Chalhoub stores 

•  Egypt

Below 15 years at Chalhoub - 10% across participating Chalhoub stores
 15 years + at Chalhoub - 20% across participating Chalhoub stores

To benefit from the Alumni Discount in store, You would need to show your profile page on the Chalhoub Alumni portal alongside your ID displayed on the portal (the “Alumni ID”) and physically be present at the time of purchase to verify your identity. 

The Alumni Discount is personal to You only and cannot be transferred to or used by another person.

The Alumni Discount is valid for an indefinite period of time from the date of acceptance until revoked by Chalhoub if it deems fit.  

Any refund/exchange of goods purchased in participating stores with the Alumni Discount applied shall be made in accordance with each participating stores’ refund/exchange policy.

You may benefit from other discounts, offers or promotions which are running in participating Chalhoub stores when using the Alumni Discount subject to the Terms and Conditions of the participating Chalhoub stores.  

You will be able to earn points on MUSE for the purchase of an item in store participating in the MUSE loyalty program. We invite you to check the Muse Loyalty Programme Terms and Conditions. 

PAYMENT METHODS

When using the Alumni Discount, the amount of the purchase will be deducted from the credit, debit, cheque, cash, or any other acceptable means of payment you are using for the transaction in the participating store. 

LIABILITY

Chalhoub holds no responsibility to You or any third party for any, direct or indirect, consequences regarding the Alumni Discount. 

RIGHTS TO AMMEND THE ALUMNI DISCOUNT:

Chalhoub reserves the right, as it deems fit, to take such actions or make such changes to the Alumni Discount for any reason at any time. This includes but is not limited to:

Modifying the eligibility criteria for the Alumni Discount which includes but is not limited to:

• joint ventures and;
• years of experience

Modifying the content of the Alumni Discount itself which includes but is not limited to: 

• the list of participating Chalhoub stores and;
• percentages the Alumni Discount operates under and;
• The jurisdictions the Alumni Discount operates under

You will have no legal recourse whatsoever against Chalhoub in this respect and will not be entitled to any compensation in the event of modification or termination of the Alumni Discount 

SUSPENSION AND DEACTIVATION

You must comply with the general conditions set out in these Terms and Conditions. Accordingly, Chalhoub reserves the right to suspend or to permanently cancel the Alumni Discount (and therefore to cancel the benefits related to such Alumni Discount) in the event Chalhoub has reasons to believe or suspects that there is a misuse of, or fraud associated with the Alumni Discount that may harm Chalhoub and its participating stores. In such a case, You will not be entitled to any compensation whatsoever, particularly in the following cases:

• In the event of fraud, attempted fraud or theft by You; or
• In the event of misuse of the Alumni Discount by You; or
• In the event You have carried out conduct that is likely to disrupt the operation of the Alumni Discount or the operation of any Chalhoub store; or
• In the event of abnormally high number of transactions of purchases made on the same day and/or consecutive days; or
• In case of default of payment which has not been remedied by You within three (3) days; or 
• More generally, in the event You do not comply with these Terms and Conditions.

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chalhoub and its business partners from and against any and all claims, damages, costs, and expenses, including attorneys’ fees, arising from or related to use of the Alumni Discount or any breach by You of these Terms and Conditions. 

YOUR CONTENT

You are responsible for your use of the Alumni Portal, for any information, text, graphics, photos or other materials which you upload or post to the Alumni Portal (collectively “Your Content”), and for any consequences thereof.  When posting Your Content, you agree not to make comments that are not factual including without limitation making racist comments, using profanity, disrespecting another culture or any other derogatory or inappropriate comments. Chalhoub will not take responsibility for Your Content and may adapt or modify Your Content at any time for any reason to conform Your Content to the image and reputation of Chalhoub or any requirements Chalhoub deems necessary. 

MISCELLANEOUS 

Chalhoub may update or make changes to these Terms and Conditions. at any time, without notice. Consequently, you are invited to regularly refer to the latest Terms and conditions in effect.

Your personal data may be collected, stored, and used by Chalhoub for as long as necessary for the purpose of the Alumni Discount. This information may be used to enhance the Chalhoub Alumni Portal as well as to facilitate provision of updates and other related services. The Alumni Discount is subject to the Chalhoub Alumni Portal’s privacy and cookie policy. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION 

The Terms and Conditions and its content all be governed and construed by the Laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any possible litigation referring to the Alumni Discount and its content will come under the competence of the courts of the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates and you hereby submit irrevocably to the jurisdiction of the Dubai courts.
